Leaving a Legacy

I walk through leadership lessons I have learned over my own life experiences. the three in particular are, Always being true to your word. This is taught through the lesson of Because I said I would, and the impact that that organization has had on me. the second lesson is called "Fearless" I pass out notebook cards to all the students and ask them to write their greatest fear on the notebook card, then I collect them, I might read some back, anonymously of course, then I go through the top 5 fears of young people. this lesson is to show them that their fears are not theirs alone, and because everyone around them are all battling with the same insecurities that this should give them strength. the third lesson is about leaving things in a better state than what they were found in. this is taught through a metaphor called "leave a little more wood on the pile" I then wrap up the session with a motivating pull through thread that tells them that if they are true to their word and are able to cope with their fears and always have a goal of improving whatever environment they are then, then they will always be remembered. And that will be their legacy.
